My friend let me borrow his macro extension tubes, which I had never used before and I was really excited about the results. It was something new to try, and the other photos I took with the extension tubes are some of my all time favorites, especially since they turned out so well that I didn't have to edit them at all. To me taking a photo that doesn't need any editing is the best type of photo. I am eventually going to buy my own since they are WAY cheaper than an actual macro lens.
