Edit Photo Details Basil the Raccoon Orphan   #raccoonbaby
I raised Basil in the summer of 2012 along with Dusty. This is Basil in the coondo we built for him to overwinter. He was successfully soft released on my property in the spring of 2013 and still comes back to visit every spring, including this year (2017). When I sense he is out there, I step onto my front porch, call his name and he comes running out of the darkness to say hello as if he is waiting for the invitation. We chat, I give him a little kibble, then he disappears into the night.
