My Mother's Daughter
This is from one of my personal leaves of life;very close to my heart.
It has two strong women in it; one, my mother going through the rituals of cremating my grandmother and another, my grandmother who laid therein.
Hinduism does NOT permit women at the cremation ground, leave alone participating in the process. It was my grandmother's last wish that her daughter, and not her son (she has one) should cremate her. This image has my mother fulfilling her mother's last wish, against all odds.
