    Edit Photo Details Mating Red Mason Bees   #nature #bee #macro #insect #mating #macrophotography #mason_bee
Technique: It was cool this morning when I found this mating pair, and with both of them feeling lethargic due to the temperature I was able to coax the female into climbing onto my finger. I set the Fstop to 11 and the shutter to 1/125th so that I could expose the sky behind them. The tricky part is hand holding over 2 kilos (4.8 pounds) of camera gear while sliding the lens on my hand to get them both in focus. Lots of deleted frames.
