I recalled from my reading that Jews commemorate their loved ones' graves with stones instead of flowers. I knelt in the rocky soil and focused on the pebbles with the most recognized landmark of the city in the background. I almost cried as I thought of all the lives sacrificed so that the Jews could have a nation of their own.
