    I know this isn't a spectacular photo, but I am posting this more for the story. I photographed this osprey near Galliano, Louisiana in the marshes not too far from the Gulf of Mexico in January 2017. After zooming in on the photo I realized that it was banded. In doing a google search, I came across an organization that bands ospreys and this was one of their birds that they banded. This osprey was banded on July 9, 2013 near Deer Lodge, Montana. This osprey has migrated over 2000 miles!
