The game of cricket is an enigma to most of the world, but in India it's everywhere. I went looking for birds in a remote and tiny fishing village in Gujarat and befriended two little boys. They immediately enrolled me in their game of cricket with makeshift bat made from discarded wood and a rubber ball. Here my friend is trying to hit the ball into the Arabian sea while the anchors stand marking our pitch. Beach volleyball I've played before, beach cricket never. Simple joys of life !
