Momal Rano a play staged at fort Umerkot
The most popular romantic folktale in Sindhi literature MOMAL RANO was staged at Umerkot Fort. This is the fort where Mughal Emperor Akbar was born at the time when his father Humayun fled from the military defeats. Inhabitants of this barren desert converged at the Fort to witness the performance. The play is known for woman's bravery, passion, loyalty, commitment, strength of character and delusion that leads to the tragic end. Momal is one of the heroic women of Sindh from Bhittai's Poetry.
