As I wrote in my introduction, this assignment is simple: I want to see photos that make me, and the rest of the Your Shot community, think, "I want to go there." And you have succeeded! I had more than 1,500 Editor's Favorites. I got to explore the world one photo and story at a time, from the comfort of my desk in Washington DC. You took me to physical and emotional destinations.
I hope you noticed that in many of my Editor's Notes, I featured really great comments from the community that articulated why you love each others’ photos. I want to promote more thoughtful and supportive engagement within the community, and I also felt that your thoughtful words revealed why you also wanted to “go there.” Your Shot is not just how I, the editor, feel, but how we all feel.
Similar my recent "We Love Animals" story, I started a discussion board post about the "I Want to Go There..." final story for you to ask questions about my curation process. I want help you to get to a moment where you recognize that you are maturing into a better photographer and a more thoughtful storyteller, one assignment at a time.
