That was a lot fun. Thanks for playing along with me. The prompt for the assignment was simple: share your two best photos taken on March 1, 2019. It sounds simple, but it was certainly a challenge to make my two photos! I was going to take a picture of my favorite hallway at National Geographic at 10:15AM, but I got busy and soon it was around 2:30PM, and I hadn’t taken any pictures yet. I tried to make a photo of Your Shot Associate Photo Editor Kristen McNicholas as she worked, but couldn’t find a good frame. I ended up taking a walk around our building, looking for something to photograph. I wish my two submissions were as good as these 24. I will definitely need to try harder next month. Plan on the same assignment concept for Monday April 1, 2019!
Of the 24 images selected for this story, 7 were taken by Your Shot photographers published for the first time. Congratulations to:
I also want to recognize 9 Your Shot photographers whose comments I featured in my Editor’s Note:
Thanks for taking the time to articulate WHY you like your peer’s photo. I really appreciate it. Keep up the great work.
I will be launching “My Best Photos of March 2019” on Monday March 25, 2019. [Click here to participate in our current assignments.] If you are inspired to become a better photographer and more thoughtful storyteller, I hope you recognize these “On (Day), I…” and “My Best Photos of (Month)” assignments as motivation to practice and keep making new photos. The 24 photos in this story further reveal the talent of our community. I’ll say it again: I wish my two submissions were as good as these 24!
