Thank you for helping me curate content for National Geographic’s Photo of the Day series. Out of more than 18,870 photos submitted to this assignment, and 1,266 Editor's Favorites, I wish I had taken each of the 32 photos selected for this final story. Each of these images captured my attention, whether it was the light, composition, and/or moment that made me care about what you documented. Sometimes I learned something new. Other times I shared in your experience behind the photo. Each of these photos are more than just a beautiful frame; they all told me a story. Well done.
Of the 32 photos selected for the final story, 11 Your Shot photographers were published for the first time. Congratulations to:
More importantly, I featured the comments of 15 Your Shot photographers who articulated WHY they liked the photos of their peers:
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
Each of these photos made me wish I were there, instead of sitting at my desk in front of a computer. Keep up the great work. Continue participating in our assignments. Engage with your peers by favoriting their photos and leaving meaningful comments. Build relationships with your fellow community members. Together we will become better photographers and more thoughtful storytellers, one photo at a time.
