Red, yellow, and blue: These three colors give you all the freedom to do what you'd like with them. I heard from many Your Shot members that the primary colors assignment sounded fun and easy. I think many quickly learned it was certainly not easy, but hopefully it was still fun.
Editing a story like this was very, very tough. With only three colors to use we really covered the spectrum of photography. So many of you put incredible effort and creativity into the images you created, whether you ordered hundreds of colored balls and patiently took over New York City, baked a three-layer cake, or had your daughter cover her hair in glitter and puzzle pieces. The creativity was endless and the enthusiasm was so appreciated.
I had a vague, fuzzy idea of how this story would end up when we began; the story we have here is far from it. You all surprised me and took this story to a place I couldn't have dreamed up myself. Some of you began noticing the colors around you each day, like the blue walls of Morocco or the many red shirts of Mumbai. Some of you created bold portraits, or made art projects with your children.
Though I cannot make this an 80-photo story, I hope everyone that made something wonderful for this assignment can appreciate and celebrate what they did. I hope you can harness that inspiration and creativity in wonderful ways in the coming year. I hope you all enjoy this celebration of primary colors.
