I love these visual diary assignments and stories. Together we are documenting the history of our world each month. On May 1st we were in Badlands National Park with Beth Mancuso, on May 2nd Meg Brock shared with us the moment when “Heather got to hold the hand of her baby boy for the first time.” Pay attention to the date of the taken photos. Not only is this story in chronological order, but there are also some photos taken on the same day. It is very cool. See you on June 24, 2019 for “A Visual Diary: June 2019” and June 31, 2019 for “A Visual Diary: On July 1, 2019, I…” assignments.
Of the 35 images selected for this final story, 9 Your Shot photographers were published for the first time. Congratulations to:
Thanks to the 12 Your Shot photographers who left thoughtful comments articulating why they liked the photos of their fellow community members. I really appreciate it. I featured their comments in my Editor’s Notes.
What I love about these visual diary assignments is that every community member has the same chance to receive an Editor’s Favorite, Editor’s Note, or being published in a final story. See you on June 24, 2019 for “A Visual Diary: June 2019” and June 31, 2019 for “A Visual Diary: On July 1, 2019, I…” assignments.
Speaking of opportunities, I hope you are participating in our “Adventures of a Lifetime” assignment. One community member will be published on the cover of National Geographic Traveler magazine.
